Office Ally Offers Healthcare Providers a Full Compliment of Revenue Cycle Management Services–Stop By and See Us at HIMSS at Booth 2713

February 4, 2011 Comments off

It’s getting closer to that time of the year again when many in healthcare and health technologies all make our annual trip to the HIMSS convention.  The show runs from February 29-24th at the Orange County Convention Center.   This year if you are not already well aware, the place is Orlando, Florida and based on what’s happening elsewhere with weather I can say I’m glad this is not the year for McCormick Place in Chicago.image

In case you missed our announcement via press release a couple weeks ago, Office Ally saw a 36% increase in the numbers of users we have nationwide across the US and to our customers we say thank you!  340,000 providers are now using one or more of our web based systems.  We do things a little differently at times, like offering a 24/7 help line which is almost unheard of today but we understand that a lot of the work taking place with healthcare today is not just limited to the hours of 9 to 5, and thus we are there to support you.

The full press release as published at Healthcare Finance News can be read here.

In 2010 we created some new programs and offerings for our customers to include Reminder Mate and just recently added our billing service.  It makes sense to take a look and see if there are some substantial savings and efficiencies.  If you are attending the HIMSS Convention, stop by and we can show you how they work with some live demos.

Office Ally also has an exclusive agreement with Blue Shield of California for its provider network to utilize Office Ally for member e-visits and patients benefit as they receive our free PHR, Patient Ally.  Some carriers reimburse for e-visits and we can provide the software and tools to make that happen.  Last year the AMA was kind enough to include a short review on how to get paid with e-visits and featured some basic information on our services.

Also on the agenda of big news this year was our first certification process, and when shopping for a medical records system this means everything as far as qualifying for stimulus money and attaining meaningful use provisions.

HIMSS this year also has a mobile version so you can stay tuned in with your Tablet, phone or whatever your mobile unit of choice may be.

During the convention, if you use Twitter and understand how the hash tags work, simply use #HIMSS to connect and see what is happening during the convention.  As of today there’s already people talking about plans and events prior to the convention.

If you have seen any of the news that has been released in the last few few weeks, there are a large group of speakers from HHS and the ONC Division speaking this year and this HIMSS video shows what the convention hall in Atlanta looked like last year.

Here’s an image of where we are in the big convention hall and if you see the big GE Healthcare booth you are not far away from us and we are very close to one of the entrance /exit areas, so we should be easy to find.   This screenshot is from the HIMSS Online Exhibitor Locator and you can find it here at their website.  Thanks again to both our long time and new clients this year for your business and we will see you at HIMSS.

Practice Mate Billing and Appointment Scheduling Software – E-Visit Template Added

February 10, 2010 1 comment

Office Ally built it’s reputation by offering “free” clearing house services for physicians.  We started in California years ago and the number of physicians using our system is consistently growing.  Why pay for a clearinghouse service when you can use one for free.  Recently we announced Patient Ally our free PHR.  All the web based modules from Office Ally are modular to work and connect together.  This first screenshots shows how to add a template to an e-visit via our Practice Mate billing software.

Did you know that Practice Mate also allows you to check eligibility online? Also when using  Practice Mate in combination with our clearinghouse services you have the option of having all your claim payments posted automatically. This is a big time saver.  Adding a new patient is a simple process and a template can be stored for each patient that includes all the insurance information, codes, etc. that is commonly billed for the patient.  This can be changed and updated at any time.

Claims are easy to look up and have several filtering features.  When a claim is scrubbed and errors are detected, they appear in the “repairable claims” section where edits can be made and the claim is resubmitted.  We also will bill your Medicare claims but ask that 50% of the claims submitted be those to insurers in order to provide complete free services.  If the balance goes over 50% there’s a monthly small charge assessed of no more than $25.00 to cover expenses.  If any of the insurers require paper bills we do those to, just indicate this when completing your list of insurers.  To make it easy we have a data base of most of the commonly billed electronic payers so this information does not need to be researched for every payer.

Practice Mate has a page of Payer Lists which are both in pdf and spreadsheet format.  You can also get a list of UB payers.  We have a full library of manuals on how to get started and if you need help, our customer service department has “real people” who will answer the phone and help you get started.

Do you need Patient Scheduling Software?  Practice Mate also has a “free” patient scheduler included with several views and reports.  Practice Mate is modular and appointments will show in the claim billing area for easy reference and also in the 24/7 EHR.  Why go out and spend a lot of money for appointment scheduling software when you can have a system for free, web based and accessible from anywhere.

If you are looking to find a Tablet PC we currently have our “Winter Prices” available for our customers for the Motion C-5.  The pdf is located on the Payer List page for additional information.

Office Ally Featured on the Columbian – We Are Adding Jobs

January 12, 2010 Comments off

Last week, our president and founder spent a little time speaking with the Columbian about where Office Ally is headed for the future, and this includes bringing jobs into the healthcare IT industry, in Vancouver and in Irvine, California.

Office Ally has created Patient Ally, a patient centric PHR for patients to use and keep track of their healthcare.  Also, recently in the news was the announcement with Blue Shield of California.  All former McKesson members who were using Relay Health are now covered with Patient Ally and have the opportunity to begin not only keeping track of their health records, but also have a highway to communicate securely with their physicians and utilize e-visits.  You can read more about the announcement on the blog and see the letter sent to Blue Shield members in California.  Here is a link to the article from the Columbian and a few excerpts have been included below.

Office Ally is looking for software developers in Irvine, California, so if this is your area of expertise, get in touch.  One item of note is that we are not a publicly traded company and thus can exercise options in a timely and technology opportunistic format.

“Brian O’Neill says his Vancouver company Office Ally will need more employees and larger quarters as it expands with new electronic medical services this year.

Brian O'Neill

Called Patient Ally, the suite of medical software products includes an electronic billing service for doctors and a patient-to-physician virtual

interface called e-visit. Blue Shield of California announced Monday that it has signed its 3.4 million members up for the service, which relies on medical diagnosing software that relays patient information and symptoms to the doctor. From there, physicians can treat and prescribe without office visits.

The service will not eliminate face-to-face appointments, said O’Neill, 48, chief executive officer and president of Office Ally LLC, which he founded in 1999 in Laguna Beach, Calif.

“But let’s say you have strep throat. Now you can be treated over the Internet,” saving doctor and patient time, and saving money for insurance firms, O’Neill said.

The business could continue to grow exponentially based on two factors: the proposed national health care plan that would add more than 30 million more Americans to the health care rolls, and the fact that many states hope to eliminate paper insurance claims.

“Minnesota passed a law this year that it is illegal to send paper insurance claims in the state,” said O’Neill, who expects other states to follow.”

Stay tuned for more upcoming news as it happens, we appreciate your business and offer real people helping you in our customer service department too.
